Headquartered in Clearwater, Florida, Source 1 Solutions was founded in 2011 by Robert Hessel, a fourth-generation military veteran who served in the U.S. Navy. Source 1 Solutions is a certified Veteran Business Enterprise (VBE) with the National Association for Veteran Owned Businesses (NaVOB).

In 2012, the company secured significant white-label partnerships and expanded into monitoring services. By 2015, Source 1 Solutions had significantly enhanced its managed IT services by onboarding senior leaders with extensive technological expertise. In 2017, the company launched its dispatch field support team, which now provides field resources in 148 countries. In 2024, Source 1 Solutions announced two mission critical acquisitions expanding global unified communications and enhanced managed IT networking with offices in Ireland with Kaptec and You Call-IT/Systeral in England.
