How our customer made it through COVID-19 unscathed

“Business continuity is essential for our organization. We wouldn’t have made it through COVID-19 unscathed without the support and direction of the Source 1 Solutions team.”

Situation: In early 2020, the executive director of a non-profit real estate development organization realized that the organization had outgrown its IT services and support provider. At the time, their IT service management was solely focused on immediate computer, telephony, and network issues that were causing downtime and interrupting productivity without an eye toward the future. The organization realized it was time for a new proactive approach—a preemptive decision focused on ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery, while also looking for better network security, uptime, and support service. Little did they realize at the time how fortuitous that decision would be.

After a competitive review of potential service providers, the organization selected Source 1 Solutions (S1), because leadership was confident that Source 1 Solutions could provide superior, always-on services and support, while also counseling the organization on key technology issues, much in the same way as an internal CIO would. By February 2020, Tampa Bay CDC was firmly established as a Source 1 Solutions customer. And, then COVID-19 hit.

“After working with Source 1 Solutions for a very short time, it was clear I had made a strong decision, said the organization’s president and CEO.From the onset, it was clear that Source 1 Solutions could handle both the strategic IT needs of our organization as well as tactical implementation. Their capable and responsive help desk, which is available day and night, proved to be invaluable as we became a remote organization overnight in the early days of COVID-19. As I told my board, we wouldn’t have made it through the COVID crisis without them.”

Solution: Source 1 Solutions devised a plan to manage, maintain and monitor the organization’s critical infrastructure to help increase stability of the network and reduce downtime. S1S configured a new wireless solution and installed proactive monitoring software. S1S proactively supports the organization with operational maintenance of servers, firewalls, AP’s and managed network storage devices. S1 is also responsible for the day-to-day front line support of all users.

Conclusion: “Our mission is to provide education, counseling, housing opportunities and to revitalize neighborhoods for low to moderate income households,” said the organization’s CEO and president. Anything that takes us away from that mission is a distraction.
